a green fling favour : help me pick my book cover

Hi Everyone,

As you may know I've been busy writing a book - now I need your help picking the book cover!

My friends at Wingrove Design have generously donated their time and beautiful design skills creating me a range of book cover options.  I've narrowed it down to my favourites, but I can't decide which one I like the best.  I'd love your input, so have a look and in the comments section let me know what cover you like the best.

Short book summary:

The story of how I transformed from an image-obsessed shopaholic to an environmentalist, learning to achieve sustainability with style.  In it I share the good, the bad and the ugly of learning to live sustainably, and include cultural analysis regarding climate change action. I want to share my story to demonstrate to others you really can go green without losing yourself, and also provide insight for the environmental movement about how to encourage sustainability in mainstream culture.

  1. The book sounds great! Can't wait to read it!
For me it's between option 1 and 6.

  2. They all look great but option 1 visually portrays the books content perfectly. That is my pick!

  3. Option 3 for me - it's far removed from the cliched green look and feel. It's a bit more fun and shows where you have come from.

  4. Hi Lisa! I REALLY like option ONE. The clip art is inviting to many interests and supports the promotion of "GREEN" in many aspects (...not just recycling the milk jug). And, it's pretty! Kelly J. (SLC) :+)

  5. Fantastic designs Lisa! All of them are beautiful to look at, you hit the jackpot to get such a diverse range of covers to choose from. The trick, I reckon, is finding the one that best 'jumps out' at the buyer and also speaks to your tone-of-voice, inside the cover.

    Here's my 2c worth:

1 - Gorgeous to look at. Wondering about popping out some of the icons up the top with some colour, as well as giving 'style' word a colour? It's very clean but does it need more personality? Also I'd bring up the by-line and your name in font size - reversed out white text on a natural background can be hard to read for many people.

3 - love the colour, the CAPS font but splitting SUSTAIN and ABILITY makes me think too much - I know the word because you've told me, but in a bookstore I might lose focus...

6 - 5&6 remind me of a Sense & Sensibility book cover. It's got a nice aesthetic, it's a classic design that won't date, I'm not sure if the lightbulb does it for me though, I preferred the leaf design from #4. Might be worth a look? Again you could pop a couple of the leaves / shoes out in colour for something eye-catching (me and colour, I know)

7 - This one is gorgeous too, I keep looking for a different font in the heading, maybe something a bit jazzier font-wise for the 'with style' part? Also this one definitely needs to have a by line that is larger in font and your NAME, darling, you wrote the damn thing, put it up in lights so people remember you!

I hope some of this is helpful -- again I think they are all gorgeous and the right one will pop out at you in the next round of edits!
